Description
Litley Court is a house, now used as offices, with a core dating back to the 18th century and substantial additions from the mid-19th century. The house is constructed of brick, with a Welsh slate roof, and features a reduced brick stack to the rear and a brick stack to a rear wing. The main façade is arranged over two storeys, with a nine-window range. The central bay has five 19th-century windows with 6/6 sashes, while the advanced wing to the right has three 19th-century windows with 2/2 sashes, all set under segmental arches. A blind bay is located on the left. Architectural details include an ashlar sill band and cornice, alongside a stucco parapet with pilasters. A central entrance porch has ashlar pilasters and a pediment with a semicircular architrave above a 20th-century door and light; the porch is flanked by pairs of 20th-century 6/6 sashes. To the right of the porch are three 20th-century French windows with horizontal casement overlights, all under segmental arches. A wing to the right features a late 19th-century 2/2 sash window. The left, or river-facing, side has four 2/2 sashes over similar French windows. The rear of the house has 18th-century brickwork containing several 19th and 20th century 8/8 and 6/6 sashes, and the rear wing contains various sashes and a part-glazed 2-panel door. The interior of the house is of little architectural interest.
