Description
The Bannerman Memorial, located approximately 20 meters southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Swithin, dates from around 1870. This canopied memorial is constructed of ashlar stone and features a square set, moulded plinth with plain inscription panels. Above the columns that support the crowning pinnacle, there is a further moulded base. The memorial includes open cusped arches with gables on each side, stiff-leaf capitals, and decorative crocket ornamentation on the pinnacle. It commemorates John Bannerman and members of the Bannerman family, who were formerly of Wyastone Leys.
