Description

The gates and gate piers to the Upper Lodge of Wyastone Leys were likely built around 1861-1862 for John Bannerman, based on designs by William Burn. The structure features cast iron gates and ashlar gate piers. The central pair of decorative gates is flanked by square set gate piers that have moulded bases, chamfered corners, and scalloped details beneath the moulded capping and ball finials. On the left side, there are pedestrian gates and an adjoining lodge, while a similar smaller gate pier is located on the right.
