Description
Longworth Hall is a country house, now functioning as a hotel, built around 1788 by Anthony Keck. It has been altered in the mid-19th century and again in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. It has two rooms deep facing south, with additions to the east and west, and a central entrance flanked by axial stacks. The central section rises three storeys and is flanked by monumental two-storey bows, with a parapet and two string courses. The facade has a 1:6:1 bay arrangement, with single vertical glazing bar sash windows. The central projecting porch has a semi-circular head to the doorway, which is flanked by similar semi-circular-headed lights. Inside, the hall has been altered but still retains some stuccoed ceiling decoration.
