Description
The Jones monument, located about 11 yards south-south-west of the south-west corner of the nave of Putley Parish Church, is a chest tomb commemorating George and William Jones, who died in 1818 and 1826. It is made of finely cut sandstone and features a moulded flat capping over a frieze adorned with rosettes at the corners and centers. The upper parts of the corner balusters are decorated with birds holding leaves, and there are raised oval inscription panels set within rectangular side and end panels. The monument is supported by a deeply moulded plinth.
