Description
This is a barn and adjoining shelter shed located at Little Brampton Farmhouse. The barn dates from the 18th century, while the shelter shed was built in the early 19th century. The barn is timber-framed with a sandstone rubble plinth and a weatherboard-clad north-west gable end, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. It consists of five bays arranged in a north-west to south-east orientation, featuring a central threshing floor. The shelter shed is attached to the north-west end of the barn and extends to the north-east, supported by circular drum piers. The barn has inclined strut trusses and four square panels running from the sill to the wall-plate.
