Description
The base and shaft of a churchyard cross, dating from the 14th or 15th century, is located about 15 yards south of the chancel of the Church of St Margaret in Wellington. This structure is made of sandstone and features an octagonal base consisting of four deep steps, each approximately 10 inches high, leading up to a square plinth with cushion-shaped corners that create an octagonal appearance. The shaft is truncated and stands about 10 feet high, with four broach stops at its base.
