Description
This is a barn and cow house dating from the 17th or 18th century, located to the northwest of Oldhouse Farmhouse. It is constructed from dry stone rubble and features a roof made of stone slate and corrugated iron, which is hipped at the eastern return. The building has five bays that are oriented roughly north to south, with the cow house situated in the southern part near its junction with Oldhouse Farmhouse. There is a stable extension at the rear of the northern bay. The central bays have full-height ledged entrances, and there are three ledged doors providing access to the cow house from the south gable end. Inside, there are raking struts that support the cranked principal rafters.
