Description
This building is a barn located about 40 yards north-north-east of Upper Dinmore. It is probably from the late 18th century, with a lower extension added in the 19th century. The barn is constructed of rubble with a stone plinth, featuring a timber frame and weatherboards, and has a corrugated iron roof. It has nine bays oriented roughly east to west, consisting of a four-bay central section from the 18th century, which was soon extended by three bays to the east and by four narrow bays clad in rubble to the west in the mid-19th century. The south elevation includes catslide extensions, likely from the late 18th century, on either side of a full-height entrance door located in the second bay of the central part. The frame in the central part has four panels high from the cill to the plate. Inside, there are V-struts above collars in the central part, pegged late 18th-century king posts in the eastern section, and light machine-cut king posts in the western extension.
