Description
The barn attached to the north side of Bridge Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with weatherboarded timber-framing and has a corrugated iron roof. The barn features five bays that are aligned east to west. The south elevation includes a ledged door on the left side and a central wagon entry. The right side of the barn is obscured by Bridge Farmhouse. The frame consists of one rectangular vertical panel that extends from a high plinth to the wall-plate. Inside, there are two unusual trusses over the threshing floor, each featuring two pairs of curved angle struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters. Please note that Bridge Farmhouse itself is not included in this listing.
