Description

The Barrett monument, located about 10 yards south of the south porch of Putley Parish Church, is a chest tomb dedicated to Elizabeth Barrett, who died in 1775. It is made of finely cut sandstone and features deeply moulded capping and a base. The corners of the tomb are adorned with gadrooned balusters that extend further along the sides than at the ends. The plain inscription panels are set at the same level as the gadrooning.
