Description
The stable block, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a rear made of brick, topped with a hipped slate roof. It is designed in a U-shape with wings at the rear and a central entrance. The south front features two storeys and is adorned with a modillioned wooden cornice. The central entrance, which extends through both storeys, is topped with a crenellated parapet and a stone cornice, and the entryway has a four-centred arch. There are three windows on the upper floor and two on the lower, mostly consisting of 2-light casements with segmental heads. The ground floor includes two recesses with four-centred heads, each containing a 3-light casement. A mounting block is attached to the right of the entrance. Croft Castle is a property managed by the National Trust.
