Description

The hop kilns attached to the west of The Lays Farmhouse are likely from the late 19th century. They are constructed from brick and sandstone rubble, topped with slate roofs. The southern roof features a longitudinal gabled ridge ventilator. The kilns consist of two parallel ranges that run east to west and rise three storeys high. The north elevation has six windows, which are 2-light segmentally-headed casements, and there is a doorway located on the right-hand side.
