Description
MUCH DEWCHURCH CP - SO 42 NE 9/95 Out building attached to north-west of The Mynde GV II Service wing and stables. C16, C17 and C18 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and Welsh slate roof hipped to west. Stone and brick stacks. Rectangular plan projecting westwards from north-west wing of The Mynde (qv). Two storeys. South elevation of service wing has six windows, glazing bar sashes to central four windows. Left-hand window has casement beneath which is another casement. Two doorways that to left has chamfered 2-centred head; that to the right an ogee head. Both have elaborate strap hinges on nail-studded doors. Stables to left are of one storey with loft and have four openings with cambered heads and dropped raised keystones. Central stable door with similar head has transom light. Interior has trusses with collars supported on two posts tied back to principals. Above the collars are angle struts to principals (RCHM, Vol I, p 50).
