Description

The building is an outbuilding attached to the north-west of The Mynde, classified as a service wing and stables. It dates from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, with later alterations. The structure is made of sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and features a hipped Welsh slate roof on the west side. There are stone and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan that projects westward from the north-west wing of The Mynde.

It stands two storeys tall, with the south elevation of the service wing featuring six windows. The central four windows are fitted with glazing bar sashes. The left-hand window has a casement below which is another casement. There are two doorways; the left doorway has a chamfered 2-centred head, while the right doorway has an ogee head. Both doorways are adorned with elaborate strap hinges on nail-studded doors.

To the left, the stables are a single storey with a loft and have four openings with cambered heads and dropped raised keystones. The central stable door, which has a similar head, includes a transom light. Inside, the building features trusses with collars supported on two posts that are tied back to the principals. Above the collars, there are angle struts connecting to the principals.
