Description

This chest tomb, located about 8 yards south of the south porch of Putley Parish Church, is likely from the early 18th century. It is made of finely cut sandstone and features a flat moulded capping that deeply overhangs plain rectangular side panels and cusped end panels. This tomb is an early and notable example, positioned directly in front of the entrance to the Parish Church. The inscription on the tomb is illegible.
