Description
The Old Welsh Hunthouse, located approximately 3 meters behind the New Welsh Hunthouse, is a former farmhouse that now serves as an outbuilding. It dates back to the 15th century, with 17th-century additions, further alterations in the mid-19th century, and 20th-century additions. The building is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a corrugated metal roof, along with brick additions from the 20th century. It has an L-shaped plan with a wing extending to the north at the rear and a 20th-century addition to the west of the east/west wing. The building is single storey with an attic.
The entrance front includes a large two-light multi-pane casement window and a wooden square-headed doorway, which is flanked on the left by a large five-light casement window and on the right by a small square light. There is also another doorway to the west, which is part of the 20th-century addition. Inside, the structure reveals cruck construction, with two trusses that remain fairly intact, featuring chamfered members and traces of smoke blackening. The New Welsh Hunthouse is not included in this listing.
