Description
The churchyard cross and sundial, located about 12 yards southeast of the south porch of the Church of St Bridget, is a significant historical feature. The structure consists of steps, a base, and a truncated shaft that supports the sundial. The cross is possibly from the 14th century and remains completely unrestored, while the sundial is likely from the 18th century. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features a brass or copper sundial. The cross has four octagonal steps leading up to an octagonal base that is approximately two feet high. The stump of the shaft supports the sundial, although the gnomon is missing.
