Description
Clock Tower Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage and cartshed that incorporates a 17th century bell and clock tower. The building is constructed of rubble with brick dressings and features a hipped plain tiled roof. On the ground floor, there are four segmental headed cart entries. The first floor has two 3-light casement windows, and there is a door in the gable end at ground level, as the cottage is built into a slope.
At the center of the roof is the clock tower or bell turret, which was moved to this building in the 20th century from the old stable block at Eastnor Castle. The turret has open arcaded sides, a dentilled cornice, and a lead domed top, along with an octagonal clock face. The weathervane is dated TC (Thomas Cocks) 1683, and the bell is said to be inscribed "Thomas Cocks AD 169-".
