Description

These limekilns, likely built in the late 18th century to early 19th century, are constructed from roughly coursed and squared sandstone rubble. They feature three south-facing arches, each approximately five to six feet high, separated by large buttresses. The inner arch has a segmental head, while the outer arches have semi-circular heads. Above the arches, a string course is intersected by the buttresses, and the walling above this string course rises to about eight to ten feet high. Inside, there are recesses and flues located at the rear.
