6/193 Stables and attached hop kiln about 40 yards west of Eau Withington Court - 26.1.67 GV II

Stables in two ranges and hop kiln. Part dated 1682, remodelled and extended in mid-C19. Coursed and dressed masonry to stables, brick to kiln, slate and corrugated iron roofs. Stables in two ranges-aligned roughly north/south with square hop kiln attached to west of larger later north end. The south range is single storey with loft and steeply pitched corrugated iron roof ending with acoped verge and ball finial to south gable, 2-light mullioned window with label to far left; steps up to gabled loft entry to left of centre; this has a C17 door beneath with lintel dated 1682; stable door to right of centre. The main stable of six bays, has two levels, quite tall with segmental-headed partly slatted windows to centre and right on ground floor. The hop kiln adds a picturesque element with its cowl and steeply pitched roof.
