Description

The stables and coach house, along with enclosing walls, are located about 50 yards northwest of the White House and were likely built around 1860. Constructed from coursed sandstone with dressed sandstone and a stone slate roof, the building features a longitudinal five-bay plan oriented north to south, with projecting end gables facing east.

The east elevation includes a four-centred arch with ledged doors to the coach house on the left gable, a single light window with decorative leaded glass, a ledged door with vertical fillets, and a two-light window with an iron bar. There is a central door under a four-centred head, another two-light window with iron casements, and a door with unequal leaves on the right gable, which also has a blind four-centred arch corresponding to the coach house entry.

On the first floor, there are two-light windows beneath labels on the left gable and another two-light window with decorative leaded metal casements to the left of center. A loft door with fillets is positioned above the central door, along with another two-light leaded window and two more beneath the right gable. The center features a corbelled gabled bell turret above the eaves, adorned with cinquefoil decoration and housing a bell. The gables are decorated with bargeboards that have moulded finials and pendants, and raised shields are found in blind circular oculi at the upper part of each gable.

Inside, the building contains three loose boxes with oak doors and iron bars in the central section.
