Description

Alviston House is an early 19th-century house, originally stuccoed. It is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade of four windows, one of which is blind. The windows are 12-pane sashes. A door with a rectangular fanlight provides access to the front, and double flush-panelled doors lead to a carriageway, topped with an elliptical arch. A band runs along the first-floor level, and paired eaves brackets support a slate hipped roof. The house forms a group with No. 12, Old Talbot Inn, Vine House, Nos 18 to 24 (even), a barn at the rear of No. 24, No. 26, Glenmoir, Linden House.
