Description

The Baker Monument, located about 10 yards south of the south-west nave window of the Church of St John the Baptist, is a chest tomb dated 1764. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features flat side and end panels with raised margins. The side panels are divided into two subsidiary panels that contain inscriptions. The tomb is topped with a flat capping and bears an inscription for Henry Baker, who died in 1764.
