Description

This is a late 18th-century farmhouse with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick on a rubble plinth, with a hipped slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan. The farmhouse is three stories high, with a dentilled cornice along the top. The first and second floors feature three-light casement windows, each with a segmental head above. The ground floor has a central porch added in the mid-19th century, featuring plain pilasters with moulded capitals and a moulded cornice. To either side of the porch are fixed six-pane casement windows. The front door is four-panelled, with the two upper panels glazed and an overlight of three panes. Evidence suggests the brick facade may be a replacement front for an earlier house, possibly dating to the early 18th century, as indicated by a straight joint visible on the left return front. The interior has not been inspected.
