Description
The Parry memorial is a chest tomb located about 11 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St Andrew in Bredwardine. It commemorates George Parry, who died in 1826, and is signed by Kyte of Hay (on Wye). The tomb is made of ashlar and features bold corner balusters, an oval inscription tablet with fluted spandrels, a moulded cornice, and a bevelled top. The inscription reads: "Underneath this Tomb/ Lies Interred the Body of/ Mr George Parry, Late of Old-Court/ in this Parish, Who Departed/ This Life July 28th 1826/ Aged 48 Years/ [Verse omitted]." This memorial is part of a group with another Parry memorial located about 12 metres south of the same porch.
