Description

The Powell memorial is a chest tomb located about 10 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Andrew in Bredwardine. It commemorates John Powell, who died in 1800, and is signed by J Clark. The tomb is made of ashlar and features bold corner balusters, a slightly raised inscription panel, a moulded cornice, and a bevelled top. The inscription reads: "Underneath lieth the Body of John Powell/ late of the Parkey in the Township of Trivel/ who departed this life March 24th 1800 died 71".
