Description
Church Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, likely dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick and plaster infill, tile roofs, and brick stacks. The building has a T-plan layout, with the main range oriented northeast to southwest and a cross-wing at the northeast end. It stands two storeys tall.
The north elevation includes windows arranged in a 1:1 pattern and a gable front on the left side. The gable features a 12-pane mid-19th century window on the first floor and a 3-light mid-20th century casement window on the ground floor. To the right of the gable front is a lean-to porch with a pointed arch that leads to a 19th-century ledged inner door. The frame of the gable front consists of four panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. The gable is supported by angle struts from the corner posts to a tie, and the gable itself is divided into lozenges by intersecting diagonal struts. The interior has not been inspected.
