Description

Rhea Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid 17th century, is a timber-framed building with painted brick infill and a plain tiled roof. It features brick stacks, with the main stack being off-centre and having paired diagonal shafts. The farmhouse is arranged in a U-shape with irregular projecting wings to the east and west, and it stands two storeys high. There are three 20th-century casement windows, paired on the ground floor, and a single window in each wing. An off-centre glazed door provides entrance. To the left, there is a two-storey, two-bay 19th-century brick wing. At the rear of the east wing, there is a late 19th-century oast house, constructed of painted brick with a pyramidal slate roof and the remains of a wooden cowl, square in plan.
