Description

The Davies memorial is a chest tomb located about 14 meters southeast of the south porch of the Church of St Andrew in Bredwardine. It commemorates Mary Davies, who died in 1801. The tomb is constructed of ashlar and features bold fluted corner balusters, an oval inscription panel with paterae in the spandrels, a dentilled frieze, a moulded cornice, and a bevelled top. The inscription reads: "Underneath/ lieth the Body of Mary the Wife of/ Thomas Davies Daughter in law of /Henry and Margaret Davies/ late of Dilwyn. She departed June 30th/ 1801 aged 67 years."
