Description
A pair of Hankins memorials, located 1 meter south of the nave of the Church of St John Baptist, date from the late 18th century. The first is a chest tomb featuring a moulded plinth and capping, with tapering sides adorned with oval inscription panels that are flanked by swags and wreaths. This tomb commemorates Elizabeth Hankins, who died in 1791. The second monument consists of a moulded base that supports a chest placed above, which has moulded feet and is flanked by urns. The lower part of this monument is from the early 19th century, while the upper part is from the late 18th century. It commemorates members of the Hankins family.
