Description
This building is a stable block that has been converted into a house, likely dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tiled roof with a central stack on the south side. The building has a rectangular plan that runs roughly east to west.
The south elevation is two storeys high and has six windows. The ground floor includes four partly blocked segmentally-headed windows, while the first floor features an 8-pane window and a 9-pane window to the left of the central off-ridge stack, along with four matching barred windows to the right. There are two entrances, both located to the right of centre. Attached to the centre is an early 20th-century portico supported by four Tuscan columns and topped with a pantiled roof.
At the east end, there is a high wall mainly built in the 20th century, which has a triangular-headed archway that connects the stable block to the south-west corner of Hellens. The stable block and the linking wall enhance the appearance of the south side of Hellens and are included for their group value.
