Description

These hop rooms and hop kilns, located approximately 20 yards north of The Brainge, likely date to the 18th century with additions or alterations in the mid- to late 19th century. The structure combines timber-frame construction, brickwork, tiled sections, and slate roofing, with extensive weatherboarding. The timber-framed portion, likely originally comprising three bays and aligned east/west, features a projecting wing to the south. This wing is flanked by two square hop kilns. The building has two levels. The south gable of the timber-framed section has a 3-light attic casement beneath a weatherboard and features V-struts. The west gable of the three-bay timber-framed section is weatherboarded to the top, with a tallet stair leading to an entry point located to the left of centre.
