Description

This is a dovecote located about 20 yards east-south-east of The Pigeon House, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from handmade brick and has an octagonal plan with two levels, featuring a dentilled eaves cornice. The openings have cambered heads, including a window on the south side, a door, and a loft door on the west side. The original pyramidal roof and timber lantern collapsed in the late 20th century, and the external steps leading to the loft door are no longer present. Inside, while not all the timber nesting boxes remain, there are four tiers of brick nesting boxes with ledges below the eaves level.
