Description
The hop kiln and stowage, located approximately 10 meters west of Dean's Place, is a Grade II listed structure. This building, which is adjacent to an earlier out-building that was later used as a hop floor, dates back to the 17th century and was altered in the mid- to late 19th century with the addition of the hop kiln. It features square panelled timber-framing with brick infill set on a sandstone plinth, topped with a tiled roof. The brick hop kiln has a slate roof. The structure consists of three framed bays aligned north to south, with the hop kiln situated at the southern end. It is two storeys high, with a doorway to the upper floor on the east side. The ground floor includes three doorways, one with a window opening to the left and two window openings to the right. This building is included for its group value.
