Description
The Mowbray is a cottage dating from around 1700, constructed from coursed rubble with a pantile roof. It features brick dressings, tumbled gables, and corbelled eaves, along with two gable stacks. The building is a single storey with garrets and has a square plan that includes a continuous rear outshut.
On the south front, there is a central door flanked by single late 20th-century Yorkshire sash windows with segmental heads. The north-west gable has a Yorkshire sash window, and above it, to the right, there is a late 20th-century casement window with a segmental head. The street side has an off-centre door flanked by single 20th-century casement windows. The south-east gable features, above to the left, a Yorkshire sash window with a segmental head from the 18th century.
Inside, the cottage has a straight stair surrounded by matchboarded and plastered stud walls, and there are three beaded plank doors.
