Description

Manor Lodge, along with its boundary wall and gateway, was built around 1820. The lodge is brick with a stucco finish and has a pyramidal slate roof, with ashlar stone details. The base of the building is rendered brick. There is a single chimney stack. It is a single-story building with a square plan, approximately three bays wide and three bays long, plus a single-story rear addition. The windows are mostly glazing bar casements. The west front has a pair of central doors, flanked by single casements. The south side has a rear addition with a coped parapet to the right, two casements, and then a cross-transomed casement and a plain casement. The north side has two casements to the left and, to the right, a glazing bar casement and a blocked opening. The adjoining gateway has curved walls with ramped coping. There are two square ashlar gate piers with plinths and domed caps, along with a pair of similar stucco terminal piers. A brick boundary wall, approximately 60 meters long, extends to the west. It has gabled brick coping and flat slab coping.
