Description
The stables and outbuildings at The Old Hall date from around 1819, with additional structures from the late 19th century. They are built of brick and feature gabled and hipped roofs made of plain tiles and pantiles, with cogged eaves and a single coped gable. The building has three ridge stacks and consists of two storeys in a C plan around a courtyard, with five bays.
The main southwest front has a pair of carriage doors with a segmental head on the left. To the right of these doors is a similar door flanked by single half-round openings, one of which has the inscription "RH 1--9." Further to the right are two 20th-century garage doors, one with a segmental head. Above these doors, there are seven leaded casements, with the rightmost one also having a segmental head.
On the southeast side, there is a mid-20th-century two-storey gazebo that is tile-hung with a glazed top storey and a pyramidal roof. To the left of the gazebo is a French window, and adjoining it is a stair turret with a similar roof and a weathercock. To the right of the turret is a 19th-century casement window, followed by a 19th-century lean-to greenhouse. Above this section, to the right, is another leaded casement with a segmental head.
The northwest side features a door with a segmental head and two triple leaded casements above it. On the northeast side, there are five mullioned leaded casements of varying sizes above, along with a single similar casement in each return angle.
