Description

The Thompson headstone, located approximately 10 metres south of the south door of the south aisle of the old Church of St Mary, dates from 1784. It is made of slate and features a large, shaped design decorated with flowers, along with a relief vase in a heart shape at the top. The headstone commemorates Joseph Thompson, who died in 1784, and is signed by 'Wood' of Bingham.
