Description

Smite Bridge over the River Smite is a bridge dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed from deeply coursed, tooled ashlar and features a slightly hump-backed design with three round arches. The central arch is larger and has bull-nosed breakwaters. Slightly raised keystones support a string course at the base of the parapet, which consists of two deep courses. The bridge is finished with square terminating piers and has three bollards on each side of the carriageway.
