Description
The Martins Arms Public House is an early 18th-century building with later rear wings and a 19th or 20th-century addition on the left. It is constructed of painted brick and features a steeply pitched slate roof with brick coped gables supported by square brick kneelers. The building has an end stack and an off-centre ridge stack, with pantiles on the rear wings. It is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-bay facade. The facade includes tripartite casements with glazing bars, all featuring segmental heads and raised sills. The entrance is located between the first and second bays and is topped by a later gabled canopy on wooden brackets. There is a small gabled dormer window and attic windows on each gable. A lean-to addition is present on the left return, with its roof continuing from the left rear wing. The short central rear wing may be contemporary with the main house, while the long right rear wing is of a later date. The interior has not been inspected.
