Description
Ivy House is an early 19th-century brick cottage located on the south side of Bottom Green in Upper Broughton. The building is of group value, contributing to the character of the area. It is constructed of red brick with a plain-tile roof, brick end stacks, and a dentil-eaves cornice. The symmetrical front facade has two bays. A central door, featuring six fielded panels and a moulded doorcase with a hood on shaped brackets, provides access. There are 16-pane sashes with moulded cases and shallow segmental heads to each side of the door, and similar windows to the first floor. A single-storey addition to the left side is not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
