Description
Broughton House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century, with a later addition on the right that matches the original design. The house features stuccoed walls and a low-pitched hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and brick chimneys. The main part of the house is three stories tall and has two bays, while the addition is two stories and has one bay.
The main entrance is off-centre and includes a six-panel door flanked by narrow lights, topped by a wide segmental fanlight with radial glazing bars and supported by a hood on shaped brackets. To the left of the entrance, there is a 16-pane sash window with a raised sill, and on the first floor, there are two similar windows. The second floor features two sashes with a 4 over 8-pane configuration. The addition, which is set back to the right, has a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor and a 4 over 8-pane sash on the first floor.
At the rear, the addition includes a two-storey bow with three sashes with glazing bars on each floor, although some are blind. The main range at the back has sash windows similar to those at the front. The interior has not been inspected.
