Description
The former coach-house to the Old Rectory, built around 1854, is located on Rectory Road in Upper Broughton. It is constructed of red brick featuring blue brick diaper work, topped with a plain-tile roof that includes bands of ornamental tiling. The building has a carriage entrance on the right and a stable door on the left, both with arched heads and later doors that match the original style. Between these openings, the wall extends above the eaves level to accommodate a dovecote opening, with the roof raised above this feature. Each gable has a narrow window. To the left of the coach-house is a lower range built at the same time, which includes a 2-light window.
