Description
Nos. 16 and 20 Fern Road are a pair of disused cottages from the mid-18th century that have been altered. They are built of brick and feature a steeply-pitched pantile roof with brick gable copings on square kneelers, along with two ridge stacks, one of which is truncated. The cottages are rectangular in plan and consist of a single storey with an attic. The entrances are located to the left and right, with the former accessed through a small wooden porch. In the center, there are two 2-light casements that were likely inserted later, and above these, a pair of dormer windows is set under a single swept roof. The rear elevation is plain, and there is a 2-light attic window in the left gable. The interior has not been inspected.
