Description
The wall surrounding the churchyard of St Giles is dated 1838 and is constructed from coursed blue lias rubble with sandstone flag coping. It stands 2 metres high and stretches approximately 50 metres along the south and west sides of the churchyard. The wall features a pair of gate piers on the south side. There has been recent rebuilding in the center of the wall, which includes a plaque stating: "THIS WALL, BUILT IN 1838 WAS REPAIRED IN THE CORONATION YEAR OF KING EDWARD VII 1902." This structure is included for its group value.
