Description
The Wesleyan Chapel, dated 1842, is a single-storey building located on Nottingham Road in Cropwell Bishop. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring pale coloured headers, and has a low-pitched roof covered with interlocking concrete tiles. The chapel has a simple rectangular plan consisting of two by two bays.
The front facade is pedimented and includes a central round-arched doorway with a flush-panel door and a fanlight adorned with intersecting glazing bars. On either side of the entrance, there are large round-arched sash windows, also with intersecting glazing bars and marginal panes. The pediment gable features a tablet inscribed with "WESLEYAN CHAPEL 1842". Similar windows are present on the sides and rear of the building, with the rear left window containing stained glass.
At the rear, there is a small added vestry with a stack against the main structure. Inside, the chapel has an entrance lobby and panelled box-like pews with straight backs. The pulpit is situated against the rear wall, accessible by steps.
