Description

The lychgate to the churchyard of the Church of St John the Baptist was built in 1894. It is constructed of ashlar, rock-face ashlar, wood, and some iron, featuring a gabled slate roof. The gateway includes a double gate made of wood and iron. On either side, there are single walls made of ashlar and rock-face ashlar that are at right angles to the gateway. These walls support a decorative open wooden frame that holds up the roof, which is adorned with a decorative bargeboard. On the east side, there is a wooden plaque inscribed with "1894". This lychgate is included in the listing for its group value context.
