Description

This is a dovecote located approximately 50 metres north-east of Manor Farmhouse in Colston Bassett, likely built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain-tiled roof, with a square plan. The north-east side has an enlarged doorway, and the steeply pitched roof is topped with tall brick copings and brick kneelers.

Inside, there are nesting boxes on three sides created from a five-course sequence of brickwork, which includes a string course, two courses forming the nest holes, a plain course, and a saw-tooth course. One side of the brickwork is damaged. The original oak roof system has undergone significant repairs using sawn softwood. There are low cartsheds on two sides, but they are not of special interest.
