Description
The terrace walls and gazebos at Thoresby Hall were built in 1864 by architect A. Salvin for the third Earl Manvers. They are constructed from rockfaced ashlar with ashlar dressings. The design features pilasters, moulded plinths, and copings. There are parallel terrace walls on two levels, with the lower level featuring a projecting square central bay and octagonal corner gazebos. The gazebos have round-headed openings and strapwork parapets. The walls are adorned with obelisk and lion finials, as well as several urns.
