Description
The urn located in the east forecourt lawn of Thoresby Hall is a monumental structure dating from 1773. It is made of ashlar and features a square base with a moulded plinth and cornice. There is a partially erased inscription dedicated to the Second Duke of Kingston. The urn is designed in the style of a draped eggcup, with a square base, feather ornament, turned foot, and cap. Originally placed in the central courtyard, it was re-sited in 1944 and moved again in 2012 to its current location in the east forecourt lawn.
